Mount Bromo, which stands tall at 2329 m, is Indonesia's most iconic and hiked mountain. This is one of the top 10 things to do in Java and rightly so. The mountain beckons majestically despite the entire top being blown off and with a crater inside that spews off-white sulfurous smoke.
Mount Bromo is still one of the most active volcanoes in the world and some areas are blocked off from tourists due to its imminent danger. It sits inside the massive Tengger caldera (volcanic crater with a diameter of approximately 10km), surrounded by the Laut Pasir (sea of sand) of fine volcanic sand.

If you arrive via Surabaya International Airport, you can use the train to station Argopuro Banyuwangi City, which is about 6 - 7 hours. Then move to Ijen Crater by bus approximately 1, 5 - 2 hours
If you arrive via Surabaya International Airport, you can use the bus to terminal Brawijaya Argopuro Banyuwangi City, which is about 5 - 6 hours. Then move to Ijen Crater by bus approximately 1, 5 - 2 hours
You can order public transportation via the application on your cellphone such as Grab, Gojek, Maxim, etc. In general, they will accept your order, to go to the Ijen crater
In our suggestion, would be better if you could rent a vehicle that has 4, 9, 14, 20, 40 seaters. An experienced driver will make your trip to Ijen Crater comfortable.
